Creative Therapy

Creative Approaches to Therapy

I offer a range of creative and expressive modalities to support therapeutic exploration and healing.

Whether through the use of symbolic imagery such as cards and visual prompts, the tactile and imaginal language of sandplay, or other expressive forms that resonate with you, our work together can be tailored to your unique way of processing experience.

Creative therapies are especially effective for individuals navigating the complexities of trauma. Traumatic memories are often stored in non-verbal and somatic ways, making it difficult to access and process them through language alone (van der Kolk, 2014).

Creative modalities bypass the limitations of purely verbal expression, allowing for deeper access to unconscious material, emotional regulation, and the integration of fragmented experiences (Malchiodi, 2020). These approaches support a sense of safety and agency, inviting the psyche to communicate in symbolic and often transformative ways.

Whether you feel drawn to visual imagery, storytelling, symbolic play, or other imaginative processes, our work can unfold through whichever creative avenues feel most meaningful and effective for you.
